After Pakistan crushed the T20 world champions West Indies 3-0, the focus now shifts to the 50-over format as the two teams lock horns in the 1st One Day International game on Sept. 30, 2016.

Pakistan skipper, Azhar Ali, is back to helm the team and will play on top of the order along with Sharjeel Khan. The other six players of the top order are the same that were part of the t20 squad.

On the other hand, West Indies are most likely to pick the same XI that played the last game against Australia. Since no Andre Fletcher is playing in this series, either Evin Lewis or Jonathan Carter might open the innings alongside Johnson Charles.

Since this is the first match in this series being played at this venue, it is difficult to predict the track. But a slow, turning wicket, which suits the Pakistan players can be anticipated.

Currently, Pakistan is ranked at the 9th spot which is the lowest ever since the ranking was introduced.

They have a chance to climb a few spots higher if they can win the series.

Pakistan skipper Azhar Ali also has an opportunity to increase his winning percentage as he has won 9 and lost 15 in his captaincy.

West Indies skipper Jason Holderalso realizes the importance o winning the series as the World Cup gets closer, the points play an important role in the initial qualifications. Or the teams have to play the minnows in the qualifying rounds.
