The 29-years-old Tennis star is back on the ATP Tour. The way he returned is rather impressive. Following his Wimbledon early loss a month ago, Novak Djokovic took some time off, and it seems that it was the right move.

In 2016, Djokovic outshined every single opponentand also completed the Career Slam by winning his first French Open. Being a month off the tennis court allowed him to regain some motivational burst which a player with 12 Grand Slam in his pocket needs to keep going for more.

At 2016 Rogers Cup, things went in the right direction for the Serb. The skeptics might argue that it was an easy task to fulfill judging by the lack of opposition.

With Federer, Nadal, Murray out of the picture, there was anybody capable of stopping him from reaching the highest spot in Toronto. In the final, it was Kei Nishikori, the world no. 6 who stood on the other side of the net.

Djokovic had an impressiverun in Toronto.

The Serb won the title without making too many mistakes. In the first stages, his pace was indeed a bit off but as he moved forward, the number of errors diminished in the end making the Serb`s task easier.

Yesterday, in the final match, Djokovic outrun Nishikori in straight sets. It is the 4th time when Djokovic lifts the trophy in Canada. Moreover, it is also the 30th Masters1000 title Djokovic grabs throughout his career and the 4th of the season.

Still, it was not an easy match against Nishikori. The Japanese star had some moments of magic on the court, but it was not enough to beat the world leader.

With both players competing for the first time since Wimbledon, the difference was made by acouple of points Nishikori could not cope with.

The Olympics and the US Open are knocking at the door.

The Serb is set for Rio, and he is for sure one of the favorites. In men`s singles, Djokovic`s best result is a bronze medal, and he is determined to raise the bar.

With Federer out and Rafael Nadal still recovering from his wrist injury, the major bump for Djokovic remains the same stubborn ScotAndy Murray.

Murray is the defending champion at the Olympics following his successful run 4 years ago in London. After Rio, Novak will return to the ATP Tour probably in Cincinnati and then it`ll be the US Open to end the Grand Slam run of 2016.
