The Bills needed some good news after Marcell Dareus was suspended for four games thanks to a missed drug test. The Bills are already missing Reggie Ragland, Shaq Lawson, and IK Enemkpali for the first part of the regular season. According to reports, Manny Lawson can be added to that list after he was supposedly suspended for the first game of the regular season.

Denial

There doesn't appear to be enough proof to confirm that Manny Lawson has been suspended for the first game.

Lawsonand his agent have repeatedly denied that he will be suspended for the first game. And allegations of domestic violence have been shot down by his agent, who has no idea where the claims even originated. And how can they have any idea? All the claims have been submitted by sources who have chosen to remain anonymous.

Which is why Manny Lawson still has no idea what is going on. He is having his agent investigate the reports to figure out exactly what happened.

Domestic violence

If the sources are indeed legitimate, then Lawson will likely be suspended for domestic violence. But Lawson has refuted those claims and even reached out to the NFL, looking for help on the matter.

If these reports are untrue, someone made an egregious error and hurt the public's perception of Manny Lawson as a good person.

Lawson is married to Stephanie Lawson, and the couple had a child back in 2013. So far, there is no reason to believe that anything is wrong in the Lawson household.

Lawson's agent

The man responsible for finding out what happened is Jonathan Feinsod, an agent tasked with discovering exactly what happened. As hisagent, Feinsod is obviously concerned with his public image and certainly doesn't want Lawson to lose his first game check of the year.

The agency released a statement in support of Lawson and continued to deny the allegations.

It's obviously in the agent's best interest to look out for his client. If I were the agent here, I'd be pretty angry about reports that eventually turned out to be incorrect.

If Lawson is eventually exonerated, he may be able to sue those responsible for defamation of character. The Bills are definitely hoping that Lawson and his agent are right about what happened.
