On a pacer friendly pitch, India is struggling to make runs as they scored just 234 runs off 90 overs for the loss of five wickets at the end of the opening dayof the 3rd Test against West Indies.

The Asian side who batted first failed to find the rhythm from the opening hours, and the surface in St. Louis literally tested the patience of Kohli and his boys.

Batting collapses for WI pace:

After losing five crucial wickets when the score reached 126, it was spinner Ashwin andW Saha who steadied the ship.

Both these tailenders batted with a large responsibility in the latter half after the lunch break, and they proved that they too have the mettle to handle the willow with perfection.

The spinal cord of the Indian batting lineup Virat Kohli was dismissed at a score of three by a magical ball delivered by Azari Joseph, and it triggered the fall of Indian card palace. It was Lokesh Rahul who gave a considerable contribution in the top order of the Men In Blue, as he scored a quick fifty within sixty-five balls.

Ajinkya Rahane too put up a decent fight, as he managed to make 33 valuable runs.

Roston Chase and Joseph made full use of the bowling friendly track, and both of them picked two wickets each. If it goes like this, India will surely struggle to maintain their dominance in this crucial encounter. The next day too will support fast bowlers to its fullest, and if the Indian batsmen failed to combat the Carribean bowling attack, then the match will turn in favor of the hosts.

Kohli will be advising Ashwin to stay atthe crease until the lunch of the following day so that the team will reach a decent score.
