Suspended Coaches

Texas A&M has one of the best football programs in the SEC. In the past five years, they have really increased their level of success on the field. After Johnny Manziel left for the NFL, many people thought that the program would fall on hard times. However, they continue to recruit at a high level and many people expect this to continue. In a recent story, two assistant coaches have been suspended for their role in an event that was demeaning towards women.

A lot of people feel like their comments were inappropriate, and some people even think that the coaches should be fired.

The event was geared towards females who were at a Football event. The slideshow had some words that showed females how the game of football is played. On one of the slides, there were are a lot of phrases that women took offense to. In light of the incident, Texas A&M decided to suspend a couple of their coaches for their role in the event.

In the world we live in today, where information can go across the country in the blink of an eye, it is important that coaches and other representatives of the team understand that they have a responsibility to their team to be on their best behavior. A lot of times, athletes and coaches feel like they are above the law and continue to do things to make their team look bad.

Bad Example of Coaches.

Texas A&M is a program that prides itself on tradition and class. In the past, the program has been in trouble for cheating trying to get the best recruits. In the past couple of years, the college has tried to clean up its image. There have been few discipline issues during the tenure of Kevin Sumlin, and this is something that they should be proud of.

This recent incident should not make a major difference on their season, but it is a distraction that is simply not needed right now. The coaches should learn from the incident and try to make better choices next time. We live in a world that is very sensitive to words in a lot of ways, and whether you agree with it or not that is not going to change in the near future.
