Defense

The defense is one of the strong points of this team. There are playmakers all over the field, and Derek Barnett is the most underrated defensive player in the country. As many teams found out last year, it is hard to find a weak spot on this defense. There are a lot of teams that will struggle to run the Football against the strong front seven of this team. The overall speed is better than it has been in a decade, and expect new defensive coordinator Bob Shoop to take advantage of his new weapons.

In his last two stops, he has been able to lead one of the best defenses in the country. Butch Jones upgraded his coaching staff with this hire, and the results on the field will show it.

Offense

As strong as the defense is, the offense is even better. Senior quarterback Joshua Dobbs is one of the best players in the SEC. Despite lacking elite throwing accuracy, he is able to make plays with his feet on a consistent basis. The two-headed running attack of Hurd and Kamara is one of the best in the country.
