Derek Jeter, one of the legendary bachelors of the celebrity world, has finally been hitched.

An intimate wedding

Jeter, 42, married Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Hannah Davis, 26, Saturday at the Meadowood Napa Valley Resort in St. Helena, California, according to a source speaking to People Magazine.

The July 9th wedding was an intimate affair, as fewer than 100 guests attended, according to the New York Post.

Jeter’s longtime friends and Yankee teammates, Jorge Posada and Tino Martinez, were among the guests.

After months of rumors, the retired MLB superstar subtly confirmed the pair’s engagement last November. In a love letter to his dog he published in The Player’s Tribune, Jeter referred to his pet Mastiff as a “Christmas gift last year from my fiancée.” The two have been together since 2012.

The tabloid darling

Throughout Jeter’s playing career, he was seen as a perennial bachelor, and his romantic life was a favorite topic of the tabloids.

Dating rumors always surrounded the shortstop but never seemed to distract him from his profession. Some of his more famous relationships over the years include singer Mariah Carey, Bollywood actress and former Miss Universe Lara Dutt, and actress Jessica Biel.

The baseball legend

Jeter is one of America’s most iconic and heavily marketed athletes. The five-time World Series champion played his whole career (1995-2014) with the New York Yankees.
