Michigan in 2016

There are few teams in the country coming in with as much hype as the Wolverines in 2016. After just one year, Jim Harbaugh has his team playing as well as any team in the country. In their bowl game, Michiganeasily beat the Florida Gators. This team was no slouch, as they won the SEC East championship before being beat by Alabama. Any Michigan fan wants to know whether the hype is real. In many polls, they are in the top 5 in the country.

Defense will be the key to success for this season. Many Michigan fans still remember the years of Rich Rod, where defense was seemingly optional during the year.

Over time, teams that play great defense tend to advance in the playoffs. Harbaugh knows that he has to prepare his team for a long season. Even though Ohio State lost a lot of players to the draft, they are still a formidable opponent that is difficult to beat. Michigan has a great incoming recruiting class, and it looks like Harbaugh is building a foundation of success.

Too much hype?

Michigan has a lot of hype heading into 2016. Some fans are starting to get nervous because they believe the hype is too much. There are many people who think that Michigan will actually take a step back this year. Not only did Michigan lose several big games last year against their rivals, but they also caught a lot of breaks.

It will be interesting to see where the mindset of this team is. Last year, the team was hungry to prove the haters wrong. This is in stark contrast to the preseason of this year where they are on the hype train.

Big 10

Michigan and Ohio State have dominated the Big 10 for as long as anyone can remember.

These two teams are great programs with a lot of lasting success. Anyone who is looking for two teams to emulate will find it here. Harbaugh must take his program to that of Ohio State, where head coach Urban Meyer has them playing at the top of their game. Over time, the two programs will battle it out to see who is the best in the conference.

If Michigan is going to last, they need to recruit at a high level like Ohio State. It remains to be seen whether they can do that or not.
