The entire Tennis community knelt down on Novak Djokovic` biggest accomplishment. The Serb clinched his maiden Roland Garros and also achieved the career Grand Slam ( winning all four Grand Slam tournament, namely Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon and US Open). Among the still active players, there are other two men who can brag about this achievement- Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. Moving forward, namely to the entire Open Era records, Djokovic booked himself a spot along with some legendary names.

Besides Federer, Nadal, and Djokovic, in Open Era, only two players level up this outstanding performance: Rod Laver and Andre Agassi. It might be confusing, but this list does not includenames like Pete Sampras (missing French Open), Ivan Lendl (missing Wimbledon), Boris Becker (missing French Open) or even Jimmy Connors (missing French Open).

It was some sort of divine justice.

Despite losing the first set of the final 3-6, Djokovic eventually outran Andy Murray 6-1 6-2 6-4. A comparison between this final and the previous one it worth being made.

Back in 2015, Djokovic won the first set 6-4, but Stan Wawrinka won the next three acts 6-4 6-3 6-4. Thus, the Parisian clay has been conquered by the Serb gladiator. It took a lot of effort and frustration, but the ATP leader prevailed. Djokovic lost three final in Paris back in 2012, 2014 and 2015. With 12 Grand Slams in his back pocket, the Serb can easily be appointed as one of the greatest tennis players inOpen Era.

Seeking further recognition.

With 16 950 ATP points, the Serbian player has nothing to worry about this matter. Andy Murray holds the second place in the ranking, but the gap is more like a continental rift impossible to fill up. The Scotsman has 8915 ATP points, thus, the huge gap between them means around 8000 points. Now, Djokovic can focus on other things such as breaking records. And there is a cornucopia regarding this matter. Definitely, Federer`s record consisting of 17 Grand Slam titles is the most popular and glory-provider.
