The following is the projected order of finish for the Southeastern Conference Western Division in 2016:

1) Alabama

2) LSU

3) Ole Miss

4) Arkansas

5) Auburn

6)Texas A&M

7) Miss State

1) Alabama

College Football's 2015 national champion was -- for the fourth time in seven years --The Alabama Crimson Tide. Some say it was the best coaching job of Nick Saban's career. Most would agree it was certainly a great coaching job.

Anyone who wins one of those trophies, surely deserves a lot of recognition. But best coaching job of his career? I'll just stick with it was one more of the many superb jobs Coach Saban and his staff have done since arriving at Alabama.

One of the things that makes this staff so great is the unsurpassed job they do in recruiting the best athletes in the country to play for Alabama. So what made last season another in a growing list of great overall coaching jobs and not the single best ever?

The staff took players they recruited over a period of years and coached them up to become a cohesive unit. A unit who played the overall best college Football against the teams that mattered when it mattered most. With Saban, the process continues on. That's both a review of 2015 and a preview of 2016 for the Alabama Crimson Tide.

2) LSU

18 returning starters and what many say was the top recruiting class in the country, are both causes for excitement with a 9-3 team from last year.Last season, the Tigers averaged giving up 24 points per game on defense.New coordinator, Dave Aranda, who replaced Kevin Steele, led Wisconsin to the number one ranked defense in points allowed --13.7 per game -- last season.

NFL

Considered one of the very best in the business Aranda finally filled the hole left when John Chavis was lured away by Texas A&M. Expect immediate defensive improvement with Aranda.

LSU's running offense is outstanding with Heisman candidate Leonard Fournete. If he stays healthy the run game is covered. Coach Miles will either open up the pass game more or prove why he doesn't need to. And then, time will tell...

3) Ole Miss

Chad Kelly is arguably the best quarterback in the league. He has a proven deep threat in wide out Adeboyejo, along with an impressive group of rising seniors and the sixth ranked recruiting class from 2015.If they make it out of the brutal first five games at 3-2 or better, they have a shot at finishing 5-2 or better the second half. Do the math, 8-4 up to 10-2 is possible. But so is 6-6 if they play below expectations.

4) Arkansas

The Razorbacks have finally out-lived the Bobby Petrino era. It's taken five years to get over but they have a competent coaching staff and good talent.Nine starters are returning for the defense. The question is will this unit play more like the number 10 ranked defense of 2014 or number 58th of last season? Using the steadily improvements overall Bielema's three years you can figure this bunch will be salty.

5) Auburn

Coach Gus Malzahn came in three years ago and won himself into a pickle. After a 12-2 season and a trip to the national title game in his first year, the fan base was on fire and ready for more. An 8-5 and 7-6 season later and Malzahn is squarely on the hot seat.New defense coordinator Kevin Steele's 4-2-3 scheme may help improve on the overall number 86th ranked defense in the nation. That, and if they have a good duel threat QB on the ranks, will tell the tale for Auburn this season.

6) Texas A&M

Second year defensive coordinator John Chavis-- one of the best in football -- saw many of his needs filled in the last recruiting cycle. Look for big improvements defensively at A&M. If the Oklahoma transfer Trevor Knight is the answer at quarterback, this team will finish much higher.

7) Miss State

Filling the shoes of Dak Prescott will be big for the Bulldogs. If someone steps up they will likely benefit from better defensive play than what Prescott saw.2016 appears to be a rebuilding year here.

Though a bowl trip is certainly possible.
