When did the Cubs score?

During the first inning, Heyward singled and then Bryant hit a double which allowed Heyward to score for the run. Though the Cubs were able to get the bases loaded by Rizzo’s and Contreras walks, Montero hit a sacrifice fly allowing Bryant to score. Russell grounded out leaving two men on base. Cubs led 2-0 in the middle of the first. In the third inning, Heyward struck out. Then, Bryant hit a home run that was 401ft and left the bat at 105mph. Cubs led 3-2 after three. In the fourth inning with one out Coghlan singled. Arrieta then singled to left, and Coghlan advanced to second with one out.

Zobrist flew out to left field, and there were two outs. Heyward then singled, and Arrieta went to second, and Coghlan scored. The Cubs led 4-3. Bryant then hit a three-run homer and the Cubs led 7-3 after four innings. In the Fifth inning with two outs, Jake Arrieta hit a solo home run. In the eighth inning with two outs, Bryant hit his third homer, then Rizzo hit his first homer of the game. In the ninth inning, the Cubs challenged a tag play call on the field, and it was upheld: Javier Baez singled on a line drive to center field, and Albert Almora scored. Russell advanced to third base. Baez was out at second. Cubs led 11-7 after nine innings.

When did the Reds score?

In the first inning, Devall doubled on a line drive to left field.

Hamilton and Votto scored and tied the game at 2-2 after one. In the third Bruce singled on a grounder and Cozart scored. That tied it up at 3-3 after three innings. In the fifth inning, Votto homered, and Hamilton scored. Reds trailed 5-8 after five innings. In the sixth inning, Barnhart doubled on a ground ball, and Peraza scored.

Reds trailed 6-8 after six. In the seventh with Peraza batting, a wild pitch was thrown by Strop, and Duvall scored. Reds trailed 7-8 after seven innings. In the ninth inning, Votto homered. Reds trailed 8-11 after nine.

Who won?

The Chicago Cubs won 11-8, and Bryant had three homers and two doubles. Arrieta also had a solo homer.
