The Washington Capitals needed the win Tuesday night in order to stay alive in the Eastern Conference Semifinals. The Caps and Penguins met for game six at the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh. The game started off rough for Washington as they were down 3-0 late into the second period. In order to keep the seven game series going, the Capitals had to make a comeback. The Penguins only needed one more W to advance to the Eastern Conference Final.

Feeling the importance and urgency of it all, the Capitals finally turned it on more than halfway through the game. Right wing T.J. Oshie scored goal number one for the Caps during the power play. Their second goal came way of 34-year-old Right Winger Justin Williams. The goal that tied it all up before the buzzer was courtesy of number 74, John Carlson.

Overtime yet again

This was the third OT game that these two teams played during this series.
