According to, Liverpool are not wasting any time following what can only be called an utterly disappointing season, as they have already targeted several players and started working on their primary transfer target — none other than Bayern Munich's Mario Gotze.

Gotze is ready to leave Bayern Munich

The talented German attacker has been linked to a move away from Munich even before Pep Guardiola left the Bavarian outfit and the rumors have further intensified following the appointment of Carlo Ancelotti, who has reportedly already given up on Gotze.

Needless to say, a plethora of elite clubs lined up their interest amid recent rumors of Gotze's availability, but Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund currently stand out as the presumptive front runners due to their historical ties with Gotze — Liverpool's current manager Jurgen Klopp was the man who propelled Gotze to stardom during their time at Borussia Dortmund.

Liverpool are going all out on Gotze

Klopp is keen on reuniting with his former star and sources reveal that Liverpool is doing everything in their power —and they certainly do not lack the finances— to achieve that.

“Liverpool have done absolutely everything in their power to make Gotze happen, throwing the kitchen sink at it,” a source close to negotiations said. (via

However, that might not be enough, sinceLiverpool's recent defeat in the Europa League final left them out of international competitions next year and that might prove to be the deal-breaker, considering the fact that Borussia Dortmund can offer him regular Champions League football.

Dortmund and Juventus ready to step up their interest as well

Although Borussia Dortmund might not have the finances to outbid Liverpool, Juventus certainly have and they have recently expressed interest in Gotze recently, as they reportedly hope to reduce the impact of the impending departure of their star player Paul Pogba.

For now, it remains to be seen whether either of these clubs will be able to lure Gotze, but one thing seems certain at the moment —Gotze will not play for Bayern Munich much longer.
