Manchester City, in hopes to win the Barclays Premier League of England, crushed the reigning champions 3-0 with the help on an Aguero hat-trick and excellent performances by the team as a whole.Captain Yay Toure played an advanced role while Fernandinho provided cover behind him. Man City's famous duo Aguero and De Bruyne were looking good together again.

The Hat-trick

The first goal came in 33 minutes when Kevin De Bruyne passed the ball to Aguero who brilliantly finished the ball into the Chelsea net.De Bruyne was the architect of the second goal as well when he clinically countered after the break passing to Samir Nasri who placed it for Aguero to finish off smartly.

A cynical challenge by Chelsea's goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois on Fernandinho in the penalty box got him sent off in the 78th minute. Aguero finished from the spot to complete his hat-trick.

“I think it was one of the best games we’ve played this season because it is not easy to dominate the way we did when playing at Stamford Bridge where it is always difficult. When Samir, De Bruyne, and Aguero are on the field together they play very well and can hurt the opposition.” said Yaya Toure in an interview after the match.

Chelsea has had a considerably dismal season when they found themselves nearing relegation in December 2015 under José Mourinho's leadership. Though the reigning champions have climbed up the table since Guus Hiddink took over a week before boking day.On the other hand, Sergio Agüero is having a phenomenal season as he became the fifth Football player after Alan Shearer, Thierry Henry, Ruud Van Nistelrooy, and Les Ferdinand to score at least 20 goals in three Premier League seasons.

The win leaves Manchester City in third place below leaders Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspurs and with the same points as Arsenal.

Here is what the managers had to say after the match:

Chelsea manager Guus Hiddink: "Chelsea are a difficult situation this season. We managed to get out of the relegation zone but Chelsea need to be in the first four places. We were knocking on the door but we didn't create open chances. They outplayed us on 60-70 yard counters.

Man City manager Manuel Pellegrini: "I am satisfied with the team, they played well in attacking and defending.

When all the players are fit and playing together, it is another team. I wanted revenge for the FA Cup defeat when we played here with a young team and they beat us. Tonight was a complete game."
