Tonight's game in Turin is more then just a mere domestic league match. For the first time in two decades, Napoli has a real chance of clinching Italy's top prize should they prove the victor in what looks to be an enthralling match with the ever rising Juventus. Crowned champions 31 times, Juventus seem hell bent on preserving their title hold over Italy for a fifth straight season but the partenopei are no easy task.

In the last few seasons, Napoli have proven their Seria A grit, having lifted the Italian Cup, the Super Cup, and having there top striker, Gonzalo Higuain, score over 20 goals in a campaign which looks like to be theirs for the taking.

Only two points clear ahead of Juventus, the San Paolo power house look to finally put the benchmark of the Maradonna days behind and start a new chapter in the club's history book.

With a strike force consisting of Mannolo Gabbiadini, Lorenzo Insigne, and Gonzalo Higuain, Napoli have the potential and quality to achieve a double by winning the Scudetto for a third time along with a Uefa Europa League for which they are also strong contenders in. An achievement well deserved considering merely a decade ago the club was languishing in second division prior to the De Laurentis take over. But over the course of a slow stead upstream in top flight Football, Napoli has seen some great players pass through their team's dugout, with Cavani and Lavezzi both being sold from them to Paris St.

Germain for a deal in the mega millions.

High stakes

Now with a fantastic coach, Maurizio Sarri at the helm, and with a bench that includes Spanish talents Jose Callejon and Raul Albiol, Napoli can once again re-establish themselves as one of Italy's elite teams outside of the usual Northern domination.

This is a match worthy of high expectations. Juventus have lost a lot this year, with Arturo Vidal going to Bayern Munich, and Carlo Tevez heading back to his native homeland of Argentina. This was definitely a loss, considering last season these players were so influential in bringing La Vecchia Signora all the way to the Champion's League final were they lost to an outstanding Barcelona side by 3 goals to 1.

Pogba has lifted the bianco neri out of their early season slump, donning the much coveted number 10 jersey and fulfilling the play maker's position with the strength and tenacity of a young Alessandro Del Piero.Tonight's match up between these two well equipped sides will be a turning point for this year's championship. A win for Napoli means they'll be 5 points clear of Juventus, with every other game becoming less challenging as the season progresses.

Higuain has certainly proved he can step up in the big matches, scoring an astounding number of goals both domestically and abroad in the Europa League. Napoli legend, Diego Maradonna has also caught wind of tonight's anticipated match, as this week he posted on Twitter a picture of himself holding a Number 9 Higuain Jersey saying "Forza Napoli."

This is the year when much could change in the league, with Sassuolo seeking a spot in the Europa League, and a southern side winning the championship for the third time in over twenty years.

The coppa Italia was a wonderful feet, but with a side consisting of some of the best players in Europe and South America, it looks like the donkey might overpower the zebra in a match set to shape the destiny of Seria A for a long time coming.
