Nick Kyrgios, a Tennis player who’s only 20-years-old, added a first triumph in the men's professional tennis circuit to his record. In the tournament final in Marseille, the young hopeful of Australian tennis defeated the much better-ranked player Marin Cilic, the holder of12th place in the ATP ranking. The confrontation between the two tennis players was mostly dominated by Kyrgios. His game was spectacular as usual, but what really mattered was the accuracy of his strikes in key moments.

An opponent to the supremacy of the Big Four

The young player seems to be growing up, thus, his game is becoming increasingly consistent. If he continues at the same pace, he may be a threat to the domination of the circuit currently held by the so-called Big Four: Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, Andy Murray, and Rafael Nadal.

Alongside other young players in the circuit such as Milos Raonic and David Goffin, Kyrgios can make some changes to the rankings.

His talent on the tennis court is indisputable, but like all players he also has soft spots. He`s now ranked as the world no. 34 ATP. In Marseille, on his way to the final, Kyrgios surpassed players like Richard Gasquet 10 ATP and Tomas Berdych 7 ATP.

An unforeseeable (at times even volcanic) temper

During the competitions in the ATP circuit, Kyrgios was not infrequently the protagonist of certain less pleasant events.

Although he's a rather controversial figure, when it comes to tennis,Nick Kyrgios has all the assets to become a great champion. His main weapons are his service which constantly exceeds 200 kilometers per hour, and also the long-line backhand which he uses to startle the opponents who dare approach the net.

The final in Marseille is an example in this. Cilic tried many times to pressure his opponent by coming toward the net as often as possible, but he was neutralized by the young Australian player with a series of long-line and cross passing shots.
