Swiss Tennis starRoger Federerbegan the new season with a victory that continued his excellent form during last season. Federer won the match against German player Kamke T. (277 ATP) in the second round of the ATP tournament in Brisbane. At this tournament, with prizes totaling $885.500, Swiss Maestro is the main favorite. Federer also won last year's edition. That final was extremely balanced, Federer won it in three sets by upseting Canadian Milos Raonic with 6-4, 6-7 (2-7), 6-4. As a matter of fact, Raonic also qualified in the quarterfinals at Brisbane, and a meeting between him and Federer would be possible only in the final.

It would be really interesting to witness this duel in Australia. Raonic is an excellent playeron hard surfaces like the one in Brisbane.

The confrontation between Roger and Kamke was quite unbalanced. Federer played very relaxed throughout the match. His opponent started well both sets, each time he managed to win the first game of the set. But the tennis machinery called Federer started shipping unplayable balls. On his own service, Federer didn`t give the opponent any chance. In many occasions, despite his struggle, the German player failed to win any ball when Federer served. Thus, Roger won with a score that leaves no doubt 6-2 6-1.In the next game, Federer will face Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov,a player who's quite dangerous.

Dimitrov has been ranked in top 20 ATP for some years now.

Federer started well this season but still has many challenges ahead. It's already known that his program has been drastically changed. He eliminated all tournaments on clay except Rolland Garros. It`s the year of the Olympics in Rio, and Federer has made it his main objective.

He will participate in all three events: singles, doubles, and mixed doubles.

The tournament in Brisbane, as the one in Doha and Chennai (India) is a last test before the Australian Open. From his latest statements, Federer wants to win one moreGrand Slam tournament, but he`s aware that it will be very difficult.
