Coach Lane Kiffin goes from failure to winner with Alabama

Coach Lane Kiffin at 31-years old started off as the youngest head coach for the NFL in 60 years. Now, at 38-years-old, Kiffin was considered a failure, but was given a chance to shine when in 2007, winning Alabama coach Nick Saban asked him to work as the offensive coordinator for Alabama.

However, at that time, he turned down the offer and stayed at USC, but as of last season, he came to work with Saban. Saban’s faith in him was not in vain, as Alabama set a record with the most passing yards in a game, and the next year helped produce Heisman Trophy Winner Derrick Henry. Now, Alabama has won the playoffs against Clemson.

A pivotal play was made when Alabama decided to go for an on-side kick that led to a touchdown.

Ultimately, this year's championship game was an exciting one, resulting in another opportunity for Saban to add to his already legendary career, and another opportunity for Alabama to add to their rich history.
