Tennis player Victoria Azarenka kept her perfect form as some of the other female opponents have suffered with either injuries or inconsistency, and now, she will head to the Brisbane International semifinals.

She was triumphant over 8th seed Roberta Vinci by scores of 6-1 and 6-2 to get her chance at the Brisbane International semifinal games. Azarenka is a two-time winner of the Australian Open and has only lost 10 games on her way to get to the Brisbane International semifinals.

Azarenka has great credentials for winning tennis matches

When Azrarenka gets there she will have to compete against 20-year-old US player Samantha Crawford, who is ranked number 142, and got her chance to play in the semifinals by beating Andrea Pektovic with scores of 6-3, and 6-0 Thursday.In the past two seasons, she only played in 23 tournaments because she had some leg and foot injuries. She was formerly number one in the world, and got her first WTA title in 2009 in Brisbane.

Brisbane International semifinals will feature several key tennis players

It will be Azrarenka’s first semifinal match for a while, and it should be very interesting, as she hasn’t ever seen Crawford play, and says she is curious to find out how they both will fare when they play each other in the semifinals. She said she was looking forward to it

Some of the other women to advance to play in Brisbane are Angelique Kerber, who is 4th seeded and the highest-ranked woman still left to play in the semifinals.

She got her slot by winning over Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova with scores of 6-4, and 6-4. Pavlyuchenkova herself is set to play against Carla Suarez Navarro, who is 6th seeded and beat Varvara Lepchenko with scores of 4-6, 6-4, and 7-5.

Men’s tennis players also advance to semifinals

When it comes to the men players, Milos Raonic started the 2016 season by beating Ivan Dodig from Croatia with scores of 6-7 (2), 6-1, and 6-4.

So, he moved to play Lucas Pouille in the quarterfinal match, who previously beat 6th seeded David Goffin with scores of 7-6 (5), 4-6, and 6-3.

Also playing in the Brisbane International semifinals for men, will be Grigor Dimitrov, who beat Viktor Troicki by scores of 5-7, 7-6 (6), and 6-2; and he will play whomever wins the match being played by defending champion Roger Federer and German qualifier Tobias Kamke.
