The 2016 Rose Bowl will feature Iowa (12-1) at No. 5 versus Stanford (11-2) in 6th place today at 2 PM PST in Pasadena, California at the Rose Bowl Stadium. The 2016 Rose Bowl will be the 102nd time for the iconic New Year’s Day Football game.According to the experts, defense is where it’s going to be at in the 2016 Rose Bowl, as well as Stanford running back Christian McCaffrey, who was a Heisman Trophy finalist this season. They expect McCaffrey to be doing a little of everything, like returning kickoffs and punts, but primarily running the ball.

Iowa head coach Ferentz has had great season

Kirk Ferentz, Iowa’s head coach, has had a very good season.

Iowa seemed to have gotten more national respect when it lost the Big Ten Championship Game to Michigan State despite their 12-0 regular season. The Hawkeyes have only let other teams score more than 24 points in two games this year, and that was via Indiana and Minnesota, who got 27 and 35 respectively.

CJ Beathard also seems to be a perfect choice to lead the team’s offense with 15 touchdowns and 2,570 passing yards. Iowa also has avoided a lot of injuries this season. Jordan Canzeri was hurt in the Big Ten championship, but is expected to play.

When it comes to the Stanford Cardinals, they have a great quarterback to run offense in Kevin Hogan. He has completed more than 68 percent of his passes, and gotten 2,644 yards and 24 touchdowns, with six touchdown passes in the past 3 games.

Iowa will have to contain Christian McCaffrey with his 225 yard rushing average to keep the Cardinals off the board.

Security is very tight, public transportation urged

Law officials have reported that security this year is extremely tight in the areas surrounding the Rose Bowl Stadium. People are being told that it’s a good idea totake public transportation, as parking is first come, first serve, and costs $40 for cars, $60 for RVs, and $200 for buses. There's a free stadium bus that runs to the lot until two hours after the game is over.

Public transportation is available via the Gold line.

Visitors are only allowed to bring a diaper bag if they have a baby, small clutch, one-gallon freezer bag or 12” x 6” clear plastic bag into the stadium, and there are no backpacks, cameras, or binocular cases, purses, mesh bags, oversized tote bags, fanny packs, or plastic bags that are tinted or patterned allowed.

So, if you're headed to the 2016 Rose Bowl, be prepared for long lines, but also for a great game between Iowa and Stanford starting at 2 PM PST broadcast on ESPN or streamed on Watch EPSN online.
