Tom Brady is ill and the New England Patriots quarterback is on the team’s injury list, meaning it's not certain if he will play in Sunday’s game versus the Tennessee Titans.

Tom Brady is ill and it was reported that he didn’t practice on Friday. The type of illness was not disclosed. If he misses Sunday’s game, it would be the first time he has missed a game since 2008 when he got injured in the opening game of the season and missed the rest of the year.

The injury report also listed linebacker Eric Martin with a concussion and linebacker Jonathan Freeny with an injured hand, and said they would also likely miss the game on Sunday.

Patriots challenged with several season injures

Aside from the fact that Tom Brady is ill, it isn’t the only injury that the Patriots have faced this season. For instance, their wide receiver Brandon LaFell was outat the start of the season, as well as Rob Gronkowski and Danny Amendola missing games with knee injuries, and Julian Edelman (who is said to be likely to also miss the game on Sunday), who, in Week 10,hurt his foot, and, in Week 9,Dion Lewis tore his ACL.

These injuries have caused a dip in their offense. As of the injury to Lewis, the team was 4-2 and had an average of 25.5 points, as well as 377.2 yards of offense, as compared to before that date when they had an average of 25.6 points and 414.6 yards.

The last instance when the Patriots scored at least 30 points was during Lewis’ last full game, so, on top of missing all of the above, the dwindling offense must now try to overcome not having his bruising accompaniment.

Team not certain he will play Sunday since Tom Brady is ill

Even though Brady was reported as being ill, and he was listed officially on the team’s injury list on Friday, the Patriots say that they expect him to be at the start for Sunday’s game, based on several reports.

Jimmy Garoppolo is the back-up quarterback and will fill in. He has played in four games, but hasn’t thrown a pass this season, something they might want to use against the Titans. However, if Tom Brady is ill the team will have to pull it together.
