Real Madrid defeated Real Sociedad 3-1 on Wednesday in the La Liga, but it wasn’t a great game for Rafa Benitez’s side. Fans from Santiago Bernabeu will not be happy, if Real continue to play like this for the rest of the new season.

Few changes in the starting XI

Real manager, Rafa Benitez decided to give a chance to Pepe and Nacho over Raphael Varane in the defensive block. He also put James Rodriguez in a deeper midfield position as the Colombian returned to the starting XI.

Karim Benzema won a penalty when he was fouled in the box by Yuri, but many fans will argue with that decision. Madriadistas confirmed that they are not in a good shape as one of the best players in the world, Cristiano Ronaldo missed a penalty kick in the 24th minute.

Second try for Ronaldo

However he found a way to beat the goalkeeper twenty minutes later, when he got another chance to score from the spot as Gareth Bale’s pass hit Yuri’s arm in the penalty box.

Ronaldo made no mistake, scoring into the right top corner of the goal just before the halftime.

In the second half Real Madrid once again struggled to complete passes, looking empty of ideas to dominate the game. The visitors took advantage of Los Blancos’ lack of energy as Bruma scored a beautiful goal from outside the box. The highly rated youngster fired the ball past Keylor Navas into the top corner just three minutes after the break.

Bad mood at the Santiago Bernabeu

Real Madrid fans didn’t appreciate the style of play from their team and booing could be heard really well. Madradistas reclaimed the lead in the 67th minute thanks to Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored his second goal of the day with the brilliant volley effort.

The visitors started to attack but they couldn’t find a way to beat Keylor Navas for the second time of the game.

Madrid secured the victory at the end of the match, when substitute Vazquez scored his first goal for the senior team.

Rafael Benitez’s player did enough to beat Real Sociedad today, but there was a lack of energy and ideas to put a dominant display in front of the Santiago Bernabeu. However, the victory puts Real Madrid to the top of the table in La Liga.
