Carolina Football fans have a lot to celebrate, as thePanthers beat Falcons’ team from Atlanta on Sunday, which seals their chances for a first round bye.

Their quarterback, Cam Newton, raced from one sideline to the other in the last few seconds of the 38-0 win, and later said about the win that it was their moment as Panthers and they would seize as much of it as they could. Newton is also an MVP candidate for this season.

Much to celebrate

As the Panthers beat Falcons, they do indeed have much to “seize” and to celebrate this season. Newton too has a lot to be proud of, having completed 15 of 21 passes to gain 265 yards and get three touchdowns.

The Panthers are unbeaten with stats of 13-0 and this victory cinched them a first-round bye in the NFC playoffs.

As the Panthers beat Falcons, the night’s game was never close, and the Panthers outgained the Falcons 424-230, as well as forced four turnovers and matched the franchise's biggest victory margin.

Lots of action on the field

During the Panthers-Falcons game, Jonathan Stewart ran for a one-yard touchdown and Newton made the connections on scoring strikes of 74 and 46 yards to Ted Ginn Jr,which allowed the Panthers to score on their first three possessions to be ahead in the first quarter 21-0.

Newton, likewise, threw a four-yard touchdown pass to Ed Dickson in the last few seconds during the first half before he left the game at the end of the third quarter, with the score at38-0 with Carolina on top.

Dickson ended with a career-high quarterback rating of 153.3, and the win gave the Panthers their 17th straight victory of a regular-season game.

During the game, the defense for Carolina included two interceptions, along with two fumble recoveries and registered five sacks, with two of them by the defensive tackle Kawann Short.

Drew Brees also threw for three touchdown passes last week.

The Falcons have now lost six games in a row even though they began the season by winning five games in a row, and they will face Carolina again on December 27. After Panthers beat Falcons, they have a chance to cinch the number 1 seed if the team wins against New York and if Arizona loses.
