Arsenal beat Olympiacos 3-0 in Greece thanks to Olivier Giroud’s hat-trick – his first for The Gunners. After this victory, Arsenal moved to the second place in their Champions League group, what means that Arsene Wenger’s side will be playing in the knockout stages of the competition.

Ex-Montpellier striker scored his first goal in the 30th minute with a powerful shot before doubling his record early in the second half. He finished his hat-trick at the end of the game, when he took advantage of penalty kick. Arsenal have now advanced to the Top16 teams in Europe’s best clubs competition for the 16th time in a row.

What is really impressive.

Arsene Wenger knew that his team will need two goals to eliminate Olympiacos, but he dismiss to attack from the first minute of the game. The Gunners were calm and they tried not to rush things as they known that they will have chances to score their goals. Greeks started the game brighter with few chances at in the first 15 minutes but they couldn’t take advantage of them and Petr Cech saved every shot they had.

The first great chance to open the scoring fell to the Arsenal, when Olivier Giroud delivered a terrific pass to Joel Campbell who pulled the ball back to Mathieu Flamini, but the Frenchman hadn’t got enough time to shoot the ball in the proper way and he put the ball over the crossbar.

The first goal came in the 30th minute when Arsenal’s maestro Mesut Ozil passed the ball to Aaron Ramsey, who found Olivier Giroud in the box and delivered him the perfect cross. The French international made no mistake and put the ball past the goalkeeper.

Arsenal scored thier second goal just after the break and Olivier Giroud was involved again.Few minutes earlier Giroud went down to the ground clutching his ankle after one of the opponents kicked him at Arsenal’s half.

Fortunately he was able to continue and two minutes later he got a perfect ball from Joel Campbell in the penalty box. He couldn’t miss this chance and doubled Arsenal’s lead.

Olympiacos tried to score a goal. which will give them qualification, by instead of attacking Petr Cech's goal they have to defend their own.

They failed to save themselves from conceding the third goal as Olivier Giroud put the ball into the ney from the penalty box.
