Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger has said that he will try to conduct some transfer business in the winter window as his team need to deal with many injuries. French manager revealed that he knows about weaknesses in his team and he will try to sign one or two players to add some strength to his squad.

In summer transfer window Wenger has signed only Petr Cech, a veteran goalkeeper from his local rivals, Chelsea London. The Gunners tried to land players like Grzegorz Krychowiak and Karim Benzema, but they failed to bring new faces to the team.

Players like Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Tomas Rosicky, Jack Wilshere and Danny Welbeck are out for a while and to make things even worse, Francis Coquelin will be out for around two months as he picked up injury during defeat to West Bromwich Albion.

“We are ready to bring one or two players to our squad during the January window. If I find the right player, who have decent quality I will do something. We are not scared of spending big money but it is really hard to get top-class players right now” – Arsene Wenger said during his press conference before the game against Norwich on Thursday.

“I love a bargain, who doesn’t love a bargain? I don’t know many people that don’t like it! For me a bargain is when I can buy player from the highest level, because only top-class signings strengthens our team. For example I bought Patrick Viera for only $3 million and after two years he was worth ten times more! We spent $50 million on Mesut Ozil and I think it was a great bargain too, because of his quality” – Arsene Wenger added.

The weakest position in Arsenal squad is defensive midfield, where Arsene Wenger has got only Francis Coquelin, Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini. Without Coquelin Arsenal is playing in more static way and they give up many space what is decisive in Soccer.

There are only few teams in world of soccer that can deal with losing a player as capable as Coquelin in the middle of the campaign.

That means Arsenal may be looking for new players, who can take Frenchman’s place in the starting team. Would Arsene Wenger listen to Arsenal supporters and would he bring another defensive midfielder? We will see at the end of January.
