Germany Soccer team reclaimed the lead in the Group D of Euro 2016 qualifications on Friday after beating Poland at Allianz Arena 3-1. Thomas Muller and Mario Gotze gave Germany an early lead just after 20 minutes of game, butPolish striker Robert Lewandowski reduced the deficit just before the half-time. Both teams played a great game with many situations near the goal. Poland tried to find an equalizer, but it was Mario Gotze who decided the result of the game with his second late goal in the game.

Germany took the lead in the group

Poland has lost the lead in the group D, but they still have two-point lead over Ireland in the battle for the second place in the group.

In the last game between Poland and Germany, today’s hosts suffered their first-ever defeat against Poland so the Germans were motivated to win today and they did it.

Germany could take the lead just after three minutes when forward Thomas Muller came close to opening goal, heading the ball over the goal after the perfect cross from Toni Kross. Poland received a big pressure and Polish right-back was booked within the first 10 minutes of the game for the terrible tackle on Muller. The first goal for Germany came in 12th minute, when Hector layed the ball off to Muller, who put the ball into the net.

Just after seven minutes German team doubled their lead after Mario Goetze perfect shot between two defenders beyond the reach of Łukasz Fabiański.

Just before the half-time Poland reduced the deficit to one goal, when Robert Lewandowski took advantage of the perfect cross from Kamil Grosicki.

Germany took control

In the second half Germany continued to push forward and their finally scored again. Goetze found Muller, who kicked the ball on goal, forcing Polish goalkeeper to make a save, but Mario Gotze had followed through with the shot and calmly made it 3-1 with the rebound.

Both teams will be back in action on Monday as Poland host Gibraltar and Germany travel to United Kingdom to play again Scotland. The Scots dropped to the fourth place after their 1-0 lost to Georgia.
