One of the big questions in the United States and on the PGA Tour right now is, who is the best golfer from the United States? If we were back 15 years ago, the clear answer would be Tiger Woods. Woods became one of the highest paid athletes ever with his numerous wins and endorsements. That until, 2008, when the so called "secret" life of Woods came out, and from there, to this day, Tiger has never been the same.

Now we skip ahead to 2015, who is the best American golfer now? It sure isn't right at this moment Tiger Woods. Now, we look at a guy who at the hearty age of just 21, from Dallas, Texas is widely regarded not only as America's best golfer, but also the best in the world.

Jordan Speith turned pro back in 2012, and since then has been very impressive, but no season has been quite as good as 2015 for the young 21 year old. Speith has played in 18 tournaments, missing the cut in only two of those 18. To go along with 14 top 25's, 11 top 10's and of course who can forget the whole winning two majors. Speith tied the 72 hole record and became the second youngest player to ever win the masters, naturally behind the aforementioned Tiger Woods.

Yes, you could argue that he had no right to win the U.S. Open, but he did and that's what matters. Speith is currently tied for 15th in the weather delayed 144th playing of the Open Championship at the St. Andrews Country Club in Scotland.

The young 21 year-old, is looking to win his third major of the 2015 season in as many attempts.

Taking one year off of any sport can prove difficult, but to perform as one of the world's best after doing so is not easy. But Dustin Johnson did just that. Johnson, a native of Columbia, South Carolina is married to the daughter of the "Great One" and ex Stanley Cup champion Wayne Gretzky and turned pro back in 2007, winning eleven tournaments since then, however none have been in a Major.

When Dustin is brought into conversation, most people think of the whole "cocaine" scandal or when he threw away the U.S. Open a few years back when he received a two stroke penalty for grounding his club in a bunker, or even his massive buckle in the most recent 2015 U.S. Open at Chambers Bay.

Yes, maybe all of that is bad, but what people don't realize is that Johnson is having one of his best seasons since he turned pro eight years ago.

He missed two of the first four cuts, but has since rallied making ten straight, including an impressive victory at the World Golf Championships Cadillac Championships, which always field's the game's best. Dustin has finished top 25 in nine of his eleven made cuts, seven of those being top 10s. No one will ever forget how Johnson arguably gives away major championships but you also can't forget that he finished t-6 in the Masters and second at the U.S. Open. Maybe the 144th edition of the Open Championship is finally his turn to shine. Johnson is currently tied for first with Danny Willet at 9 under par.

So who do you think is the best American golfer right now? The 21 year-old out of Dallas, Texas or the 31 year-old veteran Dustin Johnson who resides in Jupiter, Florida?

Regardless of who you think is better, 2015 has been a great year for both of these guys and it continues this weekend, and you can catch all the action on most sport networks worldwide as the world's oldest major continues.
