Episode 70 recap

Episode 70 developed Metal Lee's story and showed how his anxiety troubled him during his training. When Rock Lee finds out that Metal is not able to control his anxiety without the help of a necklace, he stops his training and seeks help from his mentor, Gai-Sensei, instead. The Mighty Guy shows him that he can fight even in this handicapped condition and teaches him that anxiety is not a hard condition to overcome. This episode also confirms that Gai-Sensei can still fight and we might see him fight against others later in the series.

According to Comicbook, Rock Lee is able to help his son tap into his potential and he is able to experience the Spirit of Youth for himself, and it is 3x as more powerful in Boruto than it was back in Naruto. Metal Lee also opened the first of his Eight Gates and was able to win against his father with his erratic moves.
