This week, V-Jump magazine leaked a lot of new information about the upcoming "Dragon Ball Super" movie. Today, a V-Jump spread, shared by @YonkouProd, revealed a new character for the movie. If you have watched the classic Broly movies, you already know that the new character is none other than Broly's father, Paragus.

New Paragus design

According to Comic Book, Paragus was a middle-aged Saiyan with dark hair, but this is the first time that we're seeing an elderly Saiyan with grey hair. Broly appears to have a dark skin tone in his base form, and his powered-up form includes a lighter skin tone. Comic Book reiterates that it is not very often that we see a character that resembles an elderly Saiyan.

According to "Dragon Ball" lore, Saiyans retain their youthful appearance for upwards of 80-100 years, so perhaps this elderly appearance indicates just how old this character is.

Thanks to Herms, the spread has been translated from Japanese to English. It mentions that this is the first time that Akira Toriyama is writing the story for Broly and that Broly is rumored to be the strongest "Dragon Ball" character of all-time. Because Broly did not appear in the original "Dragon Ball" manga or the "Dragon Ball Super" series, there will be an origin story explored.

Some fans stated that Paragus will be Broly's grandfather in this movie, but the translations from this magazine confirm that Paragus is Broly's father.

According to Kotaku, Broly might be Frieza's ally in this movie. The lower right part of the spread advertises the temperature-sensitive Goku and Vegeta figures.

The major difference between the old and the new Broly is the scar in the new design [VIDEO]. Although Akira Toriyama said that this movie will feature Broly with a whole new story, so far, the hints relating to the plot of the movie are quite similar to the classic Broly movies.

New trailer

The next trailer for "Dragon Ball Super: Broly" will be revealed at San Diego Comic-Con [VIDEO] between July 19 and 22. The English voice actor for Goku (Sean Schemmel) and Vegeta (Christopher Sabat) will also be there to talk about the details of the upcoming movie. We haven't seen Frieza in the recent leaks, but many fans are hopeful that he will finally make an appearance in the next trailer for the movie.

"Dragon Ball Super: Broly" is set to be released on December 14, 2018 in Japan. Funimation has acquired the rights for the movie and is planning to release the movie in the United States and Canada in January 2019.
