A new trailer for the upcoming "Dragon Ball Super: Broly" movie was recently revealed at the San Diego Comic-Con 2018 and it confirmed the addition of Broly and Paragus as canon characters. The trailer went live at "Dragon Ball Super's" panel in Hall H and the reaction from fans, as well as the voice actors for Goku (Sean Schemmel) and Vegeta (Christopher Sabat), was just amazing.

Trailer for Broly

This movie has some plot points similar to "Broly - The Legendary Super Saiyan," but the addition of Frieza to the story makes fans wonder how they all are connected. The trailer is shown below.

The trailer starts off with Whis asking Goku why he seeks even more strength than he has right now.

It's obvious that the whole "Dragon Ball" series is based on Goku searching for the strongest fighters to test his mettle against them. Goku replies by saying that he met a lot of strong fighters at the Tournament of Power and now he's all fired up. We now know that this movie does indeed take place right after the events of Survival arc.

The next frame shows a flying vehicle heading off to icy terrain with Beerus sitting inside it. We get our first look at Lemo, Chirai, and Kikono in this trailer as well. From their appearances, these new characters look like they belong to the Frieza Force as well.

Broly's intention

Goku and Vegeta arrive in front of Broly, and Vegeta says that he senses tremendous power from this Saiyan.

Akira Toriyama said in his comments that he'll not disappoint Broly fans, so maybe that's why they are still keeping him as one of the strongest characters of the series (maybe even stronger than Jiren).

According to Comicbook, Paragus reveals his intention of destroying Goku and Vegeta quite early in this new trailer. The next scene shows Broly blasting off towards Vegeta. If you pause the trailer at the right moment, you'll see Goku and Vegeta in their classic fighting poses before Broly lands his first strike. Vegeta is emphasized in this trailer, which could mean that Broly is against Vegeta this time.

Golden Frieza can also be seen praising Broly's power level and his new design is slimmer than his previous designs.

We also get to see Super Saiyan God and Super Saiyan Blue forms of Goku. The trailer also takes us to Broly's past, back when he was just a baby, but another Saiyan baby can also be seen in a chamber next to Broly's chamber. According to Polygon, we're not sure if Broly will turn into a friend at the end of the movie or not.

The new "Dragon Ball Super: Broly" is set to be released on December 14, 2018, in Japan. Funimation is planning to release it in the United States and Canada in January 2019.
