Spoiler alerts for "The Young and the Restless" teased that Jack Abbott would find out the identity of his biological father during May Sweeps. It is now the middle of June, and unfortunately, there have been many false leads. Dina's son cannot trust her to tell him the truth because her lucid moments are decreasing. The Alzheimer's diagnosis is causing Ms. Mergeron to become more confused. The promo for Monday, June 18 showed Jack looking at a document and saying to Kyle, that Phillip Chancellor may be his dad. Spoilers from Celeb Dirty Laundry, however, indicate that viewers should not read too much into this, as it could be another false lead.

Jack is desperate to find his biological father

Ever since he saw the video where his mother said that John Abbott was not his biological father, Jack has been on a mission to find the truth. He knows that Dina was cheating on her husband and meeting her lover at a cheap motel outside that was just outside of Genoa City, He had a dream that he found out Victor Newman was his dad, but the storyline never seriously went in that direction.

Jack had a vision that his mother told him he was nothing and nobody just like his father and began to wonder if the man was some lowlife. "The Young and the Restless" is dragging this storyline out and there is no indication that the truth will be revealed any time soon.

Last week, Jack and Neil were going through Dina's personal effects and found a diary. Unfortunately, the pages that gave the name of Jack's dad were ripped out.

Phillip Chancellor may not be Jack's dad

Spoiler alerts from Celeb Dirty Laundry don't give fans much hope that Phillip Chancellor is really Jack's biological father and even suggest that Katherine Chancellor could possibly be his mother.

Too much past history in Genoa City would have to be changed to go in that direction and viewers will not go for Jack Abbott finding out that neither the mom or dad who raised him is blood-related. Let's hope "Y&R" will not do that to the character or the loyal viewers.

The fact that Phillip Chancellor's name was mentioned in the Monday preview is a bit too obvious, so spoilers may be correct that it is just a red herring.

It is however entirely possible that he is Jack's real father so fans will have to wait and see. but perhaps it is true after all. Celeb Dirty Laundry promises additional updates as they become available. B"The Young and the Restless" airs weekday afternoons on CBS at 12:30 PM EST.
