While "Dragon Ball Super" fans wait for the next story arc in the main series, a new "Dragon Ball" series is said to be in works and it will air almost one month from now. "Dragon Ball Heroes" is not going to be related to the main series in any way, but the characters from GT, as well as, Super are included in this new short series.

The new series is a game promotion of an arcade game of the same name and it will be based on the Prison Planet saga of the game. If you don't know about the arcade game, it is a digital card fighting game developed by Dimps and it includes characters from the main franchise, as well as, new characters.

So far, only eight characters have been mentioned on the official site of the series including Fu, Goku Xeno, and a new Evil Saiyan.

New character designs and the Evil Saiyan

Fu made his first appearance in "Dragon Ball Online" and is also available in "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2." He is an artificial being that was created for the destruction of Time Patrol and revival of the Demon Realm.

The new Evil Saiyan has already made its appearance in the game as part of the new update, but it was just confirmed on the official site of the series that this new Saiyan is going to appear in the anime as well.

Due to the straightjacket contraption, this new foe will fight using his shadowy hands.

He also holds the five star Dragon Ball, so there is a big chance that we will see Goku and the rest of the team go against him. Herms98, a reliable "Dragon Ball" translator, translated Evil Saiyan's bio: “A mysterious warrior interred by Fu on the Prison Planet. With his astonishing power, he rampages through the Prison Planet and overwhelms Goku and co.”

As for Cooler, his character bio states that he will be accompanying Trunks in escaping the Prison Planet.

New Logo

Logo for the upcoming series was revealed in an advertisement of the anime in the newest release of the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine.

The episode one of the series will begin with Future Trunks returning from the future to train with Goku and Vegeta, but he suddenly disappears and Fu, a new character, will appear to inform them about Trunks being held in the Prison Planet.

He also tells them that in order to free Trunks, they will have to gather all the seven Dragon Balls and fight some battles.

The new short series is set to premiere on July 1st and the new "Dragon Ball Super" movie is set to be released on December 14 in Japan and it is also rumored that it will be released worldwide on the same day.
