We also got to see Boruto relying more and more on the power of the ninja tool to make it through the final rounds of the Chūnin Exams. We were also treated to Shikadai's quick thinking and analytical skills similar to that of his father.

At the end of the episode, we saw a glimpse of Shinki preparing to face off with Chōchō.

Analysis

The events that occurred in this episode were not much different from those that occurred in the movie, "The Last: Naruto the Movie." The only difference was that we got to see how each battle played out. This included the mechanics of Shikadia's battle, the confidence of Sarada, and the immense power of Mitsuki.

The episode ended on a cliffhanger with Shinki preparing to mop the floor with Chōchō. It is obvious that the anime is trying to make Shinki to Boruto as Gaara was to Naruto. Nothing is wrong with this approach, but compared to Gaara, Shinki is not half as interesting. Gaara was not only a strong antagonist, but he instilled fear in us as the audience. Though strong, Shinki, on the other hand, just seems like an obstacle for the heroes to overcome.

It is still the early days yet, so I am interested to see what the writers have planned for him.

We also saw how much Boruto is struggling psychologically due to the fact that he is using the ninja tool. He wants to make his dad proud so he can recognize his strength as a shinobi, but he also knows that he would be disappointed in him for cheating. We know how it played out in the movie, but I am eager to see how the anime will adopt it. Another thing worth mentioning is the fact that Mitsuki almost entered the dragon sage mode, but he did not do much with it, so there isn't much to analyze.

This week's episode was mainly fighting, so there isn't much to talk about. However, I think it was well-adapted from the manga and did well to hype the upcoming episode. That said, I would give this week's episode a respectable 7/10. I hope you enjoyed this review as I plan to write weekly reviews on "Boruto: Naruto next generation" as well as "My Hero Academia."
