Ryan Edwards' heroin addiction was even more serious than "Teen Mom OG" viewers thought. New details concerning Edwards' arrest have been revealed and they are shocking, according to Radar Online reports. Edwards' recent March 2018 arrest stemmed from an earlier arrest. Ryan Edwards was arrested on March 27 for violating the terms of his probation agreement for a previous arrest in March of 2017.
Ryan Edwards out of control
According to Radar the arrest report from March 12, 2017 reveals that Ryan Edwards was originally stopped by police for driving on expired tags. During the stop, officers spotted an open backpack in the back seat of the car with a hypodermic needle sticking out of the opening. Officers immediately began questioning Ryan about the needle, asking if he had a medical condition that would require him injecting medication.
Will Ryan go to jail?
Ryan replied no, and he was asked why he had the needles -- stating that he did not know. Edwards was then informed that his vehicle was going to be searched, and when asked if there was anything else in the car, Ryan only stated "probably." Upon conducting a thorough search of the car, police pulled out 14 hypodermic needles, with one loaded for use with heroin.
They also discovered two silver spoons coated in residue, a set of scales, and a bag containing a brown substance.
When asked about the brown substance Edwards admitted it was heroin. The officers weighed the drugs, finding 1.8 grams of heroin. Ryan's drug addiction issues continued on as fans watched Ryan drive himself and bride-to-be Mackenzie Standifer to their wedding location on the reality series "Teen Mom OG."
Mackenzie stands up for husband
Viewers watched in horror as Edwards slurred his words, fought to keep his eyes open, and eventually began nodding off behind the wheel as Mackenzie continuously nudged him awake. Edwards checked into rehab a few days later, staying only 21 days. Ryan was arrested on March 27 of this year for violating his probation agreement from 2017.
This means that Ryan could face his previously suspended jail sentence when he faces the judge again. At this time there have been no details released about an upcoming court date. Ryan Edwards' life has been one downhill battle after the next following the announcement that he and Mackenzie Standifer were expecting their first child together, a son, Jagger, who will arrive in October.
More trouble coming for Edwards
Since then Ryan Edwards has been involved in a Tinder-related cheating scandal, and was issued with a protection order by his ex, Maci Bookout, after threatening to "put a bullet in" Taylor McKinney's head. It was more than obvious to "Teen Mom OG" viewers that Ryan Edwards' short rehab stay did not do the trick.
Sadly, Ryan appears to be headed for disaster. Ryan feels that he can get his addiction issues under control his way, meaning no rehab, no therapist, and no help of any kind.
It does not help that Ryan has absolutely no support system at all. His entire family (wife Mackenzie and parents Jen and Larry) are no help, and are enabling with their own denial.
