Ultra-Instinct

During the one-hour special of “Dragon Ball Super,” Son Goku unleashed a form that fans were not familiar with. He was able to achieve this when Jiren the Gray threw back the massive Genki-Dama ball that he fired.

According to Whis [VIDEO], the fan-favorite Saiyan showed the signs of Ultra-Instinct, a form even some Gods of Destruction were not able to perfect. In another episode, Son Goku once again tapped into this form and defeated the fused Saiyan from Universe 6, Kefla. Later, in the penultimate episode of the Universe Survival Arc, he mastered the form and unleashed it once again.

Because of his mastered Ultra-Instinct form, he almost eliminated Jiren the Gray from the Tournament of Power. Ironically, this form was first achieved when Son Goku was almost defeated and he lost it when he was winning. The power of the gods took a toll on his mortal body and he could no longer bear it.

Other details

After the credits rolled for the final episode, fans witnessed Vegeta and Son Goku in their Super Saiyan Blue forms sparring.

The Prince of All Saiyans asked Son Goku [VIDEO] to transform into his Ultra-Instinct form. The fan-favorite Saiyan replied that he could no longer do it. He explained that he achieved the form unintentionally and was just pushed because of the pressure of the Tournament of Power. As to when fans will see Son Goku in this form again, that is unknown. The fandom is hoping that in the next arc, the fan-favorite Saiyan will grow more powerful and will overpower his opponents once more.

Meanwhile, the team behind the popular franchise is now preparing for the upcoming movie titled “Dragon Ball Super.” According to the legendary creator of the successful franchise (Akira Toriyama), the movie will be the continuation of the most recent anime series.
