The Royal wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle is scheduled for May 19 at St. George's Chapel. On this occasion, there will be a flood of people from all walks of life who will be the special invitees. They will arrive in the grounds of Windsor Castle to be a part of the celebrations, wish the couple well, and enjoy the moment.
AOL reports that both the bride and the groom are unique in their own ways. While Harry is the pilot of fighter helicopters, Meghan is an accomplished actress of Hollywood. They have their individual circle of friends and acquaintances who would like to be a part of this event.
Hence, the guest list is a long one.
It will be a memorable occasion
Majority of the guests will represent a cross-section of the British public who will be selected by important dignitaries and official representatives of the Queen. The invitees will hail from different regions of Britain and will be from varied backgrounds and ages. There will be youngsters who possess strong leadership qualities, and are involved in community activities.
These broad guidelines have been issued because both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are into charity work in a big way and would like to interact with like-minded people. Therefore, there is a provision for guests associated with charity work and organizations that are closely associated to Harry who is their patron.
Since it will all be happening in Windsor, school kids from a couple of local schools will be invited as well as those who live on the Windsor Castle grounds, and attend the church where the wedding will take place. The Royal staffers will also be in the list of guests.
Donald Trump not in the list
There appears to be some confusion as to whether Donald Trump will get an invitation to the wedding in Windsor Castle.
According to Independent UK, he himself admitted that he is not aware of any such invitation. In 2016, there was an unpleasant incident involving him and Meghan Markle which could have led to his name being left out of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s guest list.
The US President is expected to go to Britain on his first official meeting probably in the latter part of 2018.
It is not clear if it will be a state visit. Such an offer was extended to him shortly after he took over the White House in January 2017.
The Sun UK adds that Prime Minister Theresa May and President Donald Trump did not have any direct meeting since the President retweeted some videos that led to a major transatlantic row. He had also cancelled a planned trip to London to open the new US embassy.
