On March 13, it was confirmed that the new "Dragon Ball" movie will be released later this year. The film will release December 14, 2018. The movie was earlier confirmed by TOEI in December during the annual Jump Festa event in Tokyo. The makers have also revealed the official poster of the film featuring Goku. The film [VIDEO] will be based on the history of the Saiyans and it is written by Akira Toriyama.

"Rather than being a prequel or spinoff, the studio confirmed the movie will take place after "Dragon Ball Super" and act as a new arc of sorts," reports ComicBook. Fans can expect a lot of new characters as the movie will focus on the origins of Saiyans.

Notably, Akira has also worked on the characters in the upcoming film. Meanwhile, the makers haven't said who will be the villain of the movie.

'Dragon Ball Super' ending

Before talking more about the villain of the upcoming "Dragon Ball" film, let's see what the updates regarding "Dragon Ball Super" are. The anime show's fans have good news as makers have confirmed that the TV series is ending for the time being only. As most of the fans already know, "DBS" is ending on March 25 as only two episodes are remaining - 130 and 131. According to ComicBook, "The animated version on TV will be ending for the time being...." However, it is not known when the show will return.

Coming back to the villain of the "Dragon Ball" movie. The villain in the movie will be a new character and Akira Toriyama is reported to have been working on this new character for a long time.

It could be from Frieza's family or the new foe might be a relation of Goku. ComicBook reported, "Since Toriyama also states that he has been saving this new foe for when he planned to talk more about Frieza and the Saiyans, the new foe must have a close connection to Goku's past."

Episode 130 and 131

It is worth noting that "Dragon Ball Super" Episode will be released this weekend. It is titled as "The Greatest Showdown of All Time! The Ultimate Survival Battle!!" Notably, the title is very similar to "Dragon Ball GT [VIDEO]." According to Okatukart, “Goku, Until the Day We Meet Again," sounds vaguely familiar.” @Herms98 points out that the title is quite similar to the title of the last episode of Dragon Ball GT." Goku will be in his most powerful form in this part of the show. It will release on March 18. Meanwhile, Episode 131 is titled as, “A Miraculous Conclusion! Farewell Goku!
