Joy-Anna Duggar and her husband Austin Forsyth have been in the news quite a lot recently, and it hasn’t really been for good reasons. For example, the main reason these two are in the public eye so often is because there are rumors going around that the two took part in a shotgun wedding. In case you aren’t familiar with the term, this is when two people get married for the sole reason that they got pregnant before marriage. Well, now the Duggar couple is making headlines because Joy-Anna’s in-laws, who are of course the Forsyth family, are hosting a couple at their Bible camp that preaches physical discipline of children.
Who is this couple that the Forsyth’s are hosting?
As mentioned above, Joy-Anna Duggar’s in-laws are currently in the midst of a Child Abuse scandal. The reason for this is because Austin’s father Terry had an email exchange with an anonymous individual about the very controversial Pearl family speaking at his Bible camp. The Pearl family are infamous for writing the book "To Train a Child," and, according to The New York Times, the book encourages parents to use a switch and other devices on children to discourage their bad behavior.
It is worth mentioning that the reason people know about this email exchange is because the anonymous emailer apparently sent it to the "Duggar Family News: Life is not all pickles, and hairspray" Facebook page and the page decided to share it with the public.
In this email exchange, Terry actually reveals that he even used some of the methods from the Pearl book, which has angered some fans. For example, here is a line from the email that shows that Terry used some of these methods: “We did use the child training book and gleaned some good ideas from it.” I have attached the Facebook post below about the emails so you can see with your own eyes what these emails said.

The Duggar family have been very busy recently, as their TLC reality television series “Counting On” has just been renewed for a brand new season.
