One of the most anticipated scenes in the upcoming "Grey's Anatomy" Season 14 is the return of Owen Hunt's (Kevin McKidd) sister. But this time around, it will not be Bridget Regan who will play Megan. Instead, she will be replaced by "Timeless" actress Abigail Spencer. According to the Deadline, Regan posted a thank you note on twitter, also adding how incredible Spencer is and that she's confident she will be able to play the role perfectly.

Bridget Regan reportedly refused to reprise her role as Megan because of her commitment to another show.

TNT's "The Last Ship," which stars Regan and has just been renewed for its fourth and fifth seasons. With its fourth season scheduled to premiere on August 20, it's almost impossible for her to do another show for ABC. Regan plays the role of a retired Navy Intelligence Officer, investigating several issues for the reformed United States government.

The story of Megan Hunt

"Grey's Anatomy" Season 14, which will premiere on September 28, is expected to feature Abigail Spencer as the new Megan. The character of Megan Hunt is the younger sister of Owen Hunt.

Megan, prior to her disappearance 10 years ago, was romantically linked with Nathan Riggs (Martin Henderson). The story that leads to Owen and Nathan's rift has something to do with the disappearance of Megan.

Meanwhile, Kim Raver will return to Grey's to reprise her role as Dr. Teddy Altman. Rumors suggested that she will play a big role in the revelation of Megan's past.

Additionally, she will be the one to whom Amelia (Catrina Scorsone) will request the transfer of Megan Hunt from a German hospital to the Grey Sloan Memorial. While the history of Megan's disappearance remains untold, "Grey's Anatomy" Season 14 is expected to reveal more about it.

Grey's news, update, and spoilers

In the all new "Grey's Anatomy" Season 14, expect the arrival of Jo's (Camilla Luddington) husband Paul.

According to the latest reports, Dr. Paul Stadler (Matthew Morrison) will have a bigger a role in the new season; possibly bringing hell or heaven to Alex Karev (Justin Chambers) and Jo's relationship. Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Nathan's relationship will remain as sensitive as Meredith allows it to be after the female surgeon makes it clear she doesn't want to hurt her sister Maggie (Kelly McCreary).

Of course, there's also Arizona Robbins (Jessica Capshaw) and Eliza Minnick's (Marika Dominzyck) relationship that everyone is looking forward to. Unfortunately, news about Marika returning on the brand new season remains bleak after her character was apparently fired in last season's "Ring of Fire" episode.
