Daniel Craig’s return to the James Bond franchise has been the talk of the movie fans since his last film “Spectre” was released. The issue centered on his statement that he is done with the franchise. Now that everything is set for the production to roll, the actor who will play the British spy has not yet been chosen.
Earlier this month, reports swirled that he nodded to reprise his role and fans were in great jubilation. But the actor said in an interview with WMMR’s “Preston & Steve” that nothing has been put in black and white yet reports Huffington Post.
He said that he is not playing games, but the noise created by his return was enormous that he wants to stay out of it for the mean time. He reiterated the same in another interview with the Morning Magic 106.7 saying that no decision has been made yet despite reports saying that it was a “done deal.”
Daniel Craig confirms that he will play again as James Bond
After stating that nothing has been decided yet, the 49-year-old actor confirmed on the “Late Show with Stephen Colbert” that he is reprising his role for the last time. The “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” star said that he wants to leave on a high note as per News. When Colbert asked him about his statement before, the actor said that he said something stupid at that time.
Daniel Craig said after the filming of “Spectre” that it will be his last film for the franchise. He declared that he would rather slash his write than appear for the role again. Producer Barbara Brocolli has exerted all efforts to get the actor to play James Bond again.
Craig has been with the franchise for more than a decade.
He previously said that he wants to try playing other roles. He got tired of playing the role. Understandably, a James Bond film is meticulously and perfectly done. No wonder it was considered one of the best franchises in Hollywood.
Many actors want to take his place but failed
Many actors have shown interest in playing the role of Tom Hiddleston, Aidan Turner, Idris Elba, Theo James, among others.
But no one seems to replicate what Craig has done with the role. Auditions conducted failed to come out with a new actor who will play the new James Bond.
The film is set for release on November 8, 2019. As reported, everything has been set for production. Yann Demange, known for his work with “Incomplete” and “Headspace” is being eyed to direct Bond 25. Daniel Craig appeared on “Skyfall,” “Spectre,” “Casino Royale,” and “Quantum of Solace.”
