Sarada Uchiha only has vague memories of his father. Her mother’s strange relationship with her husband doesn’t help the fact that the heiress of the Uchiha Clan knows nothing about his father except through the descriptions provided by the friends of Sasuke Uchiha. Sarada, with the aid of Chocho, goes on a quest to find the truth about his father in "Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" episode 20.

Episode 20 recap (spoiler alert)

Sasuke Uchiha encounters a boy having a Sharingan. The boy believed to be Shin Uchiha's clone attacks Sasuke but he successfully fended off the attack. Sasuke, the last known living descendant of the Uchiha clan with the exception of her child, Sarada, was intrigued to find another Sharingan user.

Sasuke reported his findings to his friend, the Seventh Hokage Naruto Uzumaki.

Back at the Hidden Leaf Village, Sarada asks Sakura whether her father is really Sasuke Uchiha. Even with her mother's confirmation, doubts about her real parentage still linger in Sarada's mind. In a twist, Chocho asks Sarada to accompany her to find her own father. Sarada quickly agrees but her motives are clear, she wants to find Sasuke and will use Chocho's own quest as her cover.

Sarada wants to find out more about his father and the only way to get that information is to get it from her father's best friend, Naruto Uzumaki, the Seventh Hokage. So to the office of the Hokage she went, armed with a picture of Sasuke and his team, formally known Team Taka, back during Sasuke's rouge ninja days. The photo shows Sasuke, Jugo, Karin, and Suigetsu.

Meanwhile, Naruto received Sasuke's report and decided to meet up with Sasuke. Sarada, having heard of Naruto's plans, decides to shadow Naruto. Sarada found another excuse to follow Naruto as she persuaded Boruto Uzumaki to deliver his father's lunch. Chocho and Sarada tried to catch up with Naruto but encounters the boy with the Sharingan, Shin Uchiha's alleged clone.

Shin's orders were to kidnap Sarada and use her as a leverage to get to Sasuke Uchiha. Sarada and Chocho defend themselves against Shin Uchiha and were on the verge of losing when Naruto showed up to save them. Naruto, sensing that Shin is a dangerous opponent because of his Sharingan, uses his Sage mode and tried to capture Shin. Shin eventually escapes and Naruto decides to take both Sarada and Chocho along to meet with Sasuke.

During a break in their travel, Sarada confesses that she doesn't remember Sasuke. Naruto grew up without parents and perhaps sympathizing with Sarada's predicament explains that Sasuke's missions that force the latter to travel far and wide.

Naruto proceeded to describe what Sasuke was like during their days at the Ninja Academy. In Naruto's own words, Sasuke is pictured as being popular and good looking while being a good student, but he was also rude, arrogant and antisocial.

Naruto, perhaps sensing Sarada's doubt with regards to her parentage, adds that Sarada has Sasuke's eyes but the presence of Sakura. In his mind, Sarada is Sasuke's and Sakura's child without a doubt. Sarada went ahead to find her father and overwhelmed with emotions with the possibility of meeting her father, Sarada unlocked her Sharingan.

However, whatever expectations Sarada had in her mind regarding a joyous reunion with Sasuke was crushed as Sasuke mistakenly identifies Sarada as one of Shin's ally due to her Sharingan. "Boruto" episode 20 is entitled "The Boy with the Sharingan" and was aired on August 16, 2017.

"Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" episode 21 will be aired the following week, August 23, 2017. Episode 21 is entitled "Sasuke and Sarada."
