Starz has finally announced the release ofOutlanderseason 3 on television. The droughtlander will be finally over on Sept. 10 at 8 p.m. as fans will once again see their favorites, Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) and Claire Fraser (Caitriona Balfe) on screen.

Aside from the show’s official release, the network also unveiled a new emotional key art of the on-screen couple divided by a stone wall. It has been known that the two will be separated by the circumstances that are about to happen in the television series but will later be reunited.

New teaser photos

Starz has revealed a number of new on-set photos of “Outlander” Season 3 that tease what fans could expect from the series.

In the snaps, Jamie Fraser will be seen in the middle of a bloody skirmish in the Battle of Culloden, where Claire Fraser thought that he died. The two will be separated and the kilted hunk will be drowning in misery as he got stuck in the 18th century without his love. Fans will also see him donning a couple of new hairstyles.

Caitriona Balfe’s character, on the other hand, will be two centuries away from Sam Heughan’s role in the television series. Viewers will see her ditching her usual corset for a Jackie Kennedy look from the 1960s. She will also give birth to Brianna with Frank Randall (Tobias Menzies) on her side, instead of her daughter’s real father.

Heughan, Balfe’s interviews

Moreover, in an interview with Vanity Fair, Sam Heughan talked about Claire Fraser and Jamie Fraser’s separation.

The 37-year-old star revealed that being away from each other isn’t only just difficult for their respective characters, but also to themselves.

“Honestly, it’s like having a death in the family,” he said. He explained that it is also hard to be apart to Caitriona Balfe. He describes her as a good person, a great co-star, and a very good actress.

However, the Scottish actor teased that their separation also has something to do with their imminent reunion in the historical television series.

He even hinted that it “should be very special.”

Additionally, in a different interview with Vanity Fair, Caitriona Balfe assured fans that they are about to see a number of love scenes in the upcoming third installment. But, they just have to wait for Claire Fraser and Jamie Fraser’s reunion to make it happen. In fact, the 37-year-old actress even teased that the love scenes will be more frequent than what viewers saw in the previous season.

Moreover, “Outlander” Season 3 will be composed of 13 episodes based on the third novel, “Voyager,” of Diana Gabaldon’s book series with the same title.
