It was in 2013 when Zyrus officially announced to the public that she is a lesbian. Amid the fact that most people were used to call her Charice and loved her for being a female singer, Zyrus explained that she wanted to express what is really inside her heart; something that is the dark side of her.

Meanwhile, Zyrus further explained that what she did is not about something being rebellious; instead, she was just transforming into the kind of person that she is. A year later, the "Pyramid" singer, who was dubbed as the "most talented girl in the world" by Winfrey, shared a new revelation that her soul is a male. Nonetheless, she added that she’s not going to engage in any physical transformation or surgery.

Top 10 on Billboard 200

Pempengco, or better known as Jake Zyrus on her new name, was known as the first Asian solo singer to be included in the Top 10 of the Billboard 200. Apparently, she was into the heights of her career back in 2010 when she released her album "Charice." She gained a spot in "Glee" sometime in 2011 and became one of the loved characters of the show as Sunshine Corazon.

Further, she has also guested to Oprah Winfrey's Show and The Ellen DeGeneres Show. When she was 16, she got the chance of performing on the same stage with the popular singer, Celine Dion, at Madison Square Garden. With the changes that she has been going through right now, Zyrus explained that she is not going to change everything about her; not physically. However, she has to cut her hair short like male and to wear a dress like a boy. When asked about what's next in her career, Zyrus is yet to give comments about it.
