This week, Scarlett Johansson is in New York City for the shooting of her upcoming movie “Rough Night.” The actress is busy in the reshoot of several action sequences in the city, and there’s no word on exactly what they will be filming after a few days. There’re rumors that several scenes are yet to be reshot in Chicago and Los Angeles, but Scarlett has refused to comment anything. We look forward to this mega-budget film and have high expectations.
In addition to Scarlett, the film has Kate McKinnon, Ilana Glazer, Zoë Kravitz, and Jillian Bell in the leading roles.
The story is about a group of girls who attend a bachelorette party. Kate, Scarlett, Zoe, Ilana, and Jillian play five best high school friends who have reunited in Miami after a long time. They accidentally kill a young man and then face various issues. Amidst the craziness of trying to cover it up, they're ultimately brought closer together when it matters most.
‘Rough Night’ in the works
Johansson says that the movie is being filmed at Beverley Rd and Argyley Rd, Brooklyn. In June 2015, Sony Pictures announced its plans for “Rough Night.” Scarlett was finalized to play the leading role in December 2015. Ty Burrell, Colton Haynes, Kate McKinnon, Ilana Glazer, Demi Moore, and Jillian Bell joined the cast in February 2016.
Principal photography began in August 2016, in New York and Chicago. In October 2016, several scenes were shot in Mount Vernon, New York.
The release date
Initially, “Rough Night” was scheduled to be released on June 23, 2017. Sony Pictures delayed the film to June 16 due to budget and script issues. Scarlett began her career from the fantasy comedy “North” in 1994.
Since then, she has appeared in dozens of blockbusters including “Manny & Lo,” “The Horse Whisperer,” “Ghost World,” “Girl with a Pearl Earring,” and “Lost in Translation.”
The actress never compromises on the quality of her roles. She says that “Rough Night” is an inspiring story of five high school friends. The actress will soon upload several movie stills and teaser trailers on the personal Instagram and Twitter accounts.
The adventurous side of Johansson was most apparent in 2013 when she appeared in several horror and science fiction films. She took the stage due to her nice performance in "Hitchcock," and "As Above, So Below."
Some of her most anticipated projects are a science fiction film “Under the Skin” and a sequel to “We Bought a Zoo.”
