To the dismay of "One Piece" fans, there will be no new chapter coming out this week. Japan is celebrating Golden Week and therefore Shonen Jump won't be releasing chapter 864 until May. Chapter 863 of the popular Manga series left readers with an enticing cliffhanger as Brook, disguised as Monkey D. Luffy, destroyed the picture of Mother Caramel. At this point, it remains unclear who Mother Caramel really is and why Big Mom is so fond of her. However, Capone Bege has previously revealed that the destruction of Mother Caramel's portrait would cause the seemingly invincible Yonko to become susceptible to damage. Let's take a look at the events leading up to Sanji's wedding and what we can expect in the upcoming chapters.

Sanji's wedding and Luffy's pirate alliance

In order to save Sanji, who's been abducted by Big Mom's crew at the beginning of the arc, Luffy formed an unlikely pirate alliance with Capone "Gang" Bege, former Shichibukai Jinbei, and the evil scientist Caesar Clown. Capone Bege is, of course, a member of the so-called Worst Generation and thus one of Luffy's contemporaries. After the time skip, it was revealed that Capone Bege has become a member of Big Mom's pirate crew. He then turned up at Zou and took both Sanji and Caesar Clown to Whole Cake Island, Big Mom's home.

Sanji, the third son of the notorious Vinsmoke Family, was summoned by Big Mom to marry her daughter Pudding. Not wanting to put his friends' lives in jeopardy, Sanji reluctantly accepted the proposal but eventually found out that the Yonko was scheming to kill off his entire family and take over the Germa 66. As a result of this revelation, Sanji reunited with Luffy and joined up with Jinbei and the Fire tank Pirates to take down Big Mom.

The Big Mom assassination plan

Having been a member of Big Mom's crew for a significant amount of time, Capone Bege found out about the Yonko's weakness: Big Mom has an emotional attachment to a person known as Mother Caramel and always places a portrait of Caramel next to her during tea parties. When this picture is destroyed, Big Mom loses control and unleashes a violent scream along with her Haoshoku Haki. In this state, the otherwise invulnerable Yonko becomes susceptible to damage.

Capone Bege has already planned to assassinate Big Mom before knowing that Luffy and Jinbei would get involved. However, he also knows that the odds are not in his favor and therefore agreed to form an alliance with the Strawhats.

Bege's plan was to have Luffy destroy the portrait while he shoots the Yonko with a poisonous rocket. As mentioned above, Brook managed to destroy the picture of Caramel amid all the commotion caused by Luffy and Jinbei. Things never really go according to plan with the Strawhats, though, and Big Mom will certainly do something unexpected.

Big Mom Pirates to retaliate

Many "One Piece" fans have been speculating that Big Mom may be the weakest out of the four Yonkos, but she's a Yonko nonetheless. So far, we have not seen much of her true strength and powers, but she defeated Brook without breaking a sweat. Luffy is obviously much stronger than Brook, but taking into consideration that the Straw Hats are hugely outnumbered by Big Mom's crew and allies, it is safe to say that they'd lose in an all-out-battle. Charlotte Katakuri is presumably the second strongest member of the Big Mom Pirates and with a bounty of 1,057,000,000 Belli, he's worth as much as two Monkey D. Luffy.

Bounties are not necessarily a measure of one's true power level of course, and Luffy has already managed to defeat one of the Sweet Commanders, albeit with the help of Nami.

Regardless, if Big Mom does not break down as originally planned and instead goes on a full-fledged rampage, the Straw Hats will be in serious trouble. Pekoms had previously warned Capone Bege that underestimating Big Mom would be his downfall. It remains to be seen who will end up on top in this battle but let's not forget about the Vinsmoke family, who will certainly get involved in this fight as well.
