Ymir was believed to have made a pact with the Devil of the Earth so she could obtain the power of the Founding Titan, the progenitor of the Colossus, Armored, Beast, Dancing and Attack Titan.

Golden Age of the Eldians

Ymir harnessed the power of the Founding Titan for 13 years until her death. When she passed away, her soul was split between nine inheritors who formed the nine clans of Eldia. Together, they decided to conquer other territories previously occupied by the Marleys, establishing the Golden Age of the Eldian Empire. During their conquest, the Eldians unleashed their might by using their nine titan champions along with millions of colossus and mindless titans upon their enemies.

Paradis Island Exile

The Eldians lorded over most of the territories for 1,700 years until a Marley-instigated civil war broke loose. At that point, the 145th King of the Fritz family decided to leave the territories and fled to Paradis Island along with other Eldians.

He used the power of the Founding Titan to order millions of Colossus titan form the three concentric walls: Wall Maria, Wall Rose and Wall Sheena.

Trying to live in peace and forget the horrors of the past, he successfully wiped out the memories of the people in the wall, except the Ackerman and Asians.

The "Attack on Titan" / "Shingeki no Kyojin manga" series has already issued 91 chapters since its inception in 2009. Story-wise, Season 2 will cover the Clash of the Titans arc which runs between chapter 35 and chapter 50. So by the end of season 2, the anime series will need to cover 40 or more chapters to cope up with the manga series. That’s a lot of grounds to cover for animators, so by estimation fans should expect at least 3 or 4 more seasons from this popular franchise.

"Attack on Titan" season 2 airs every Saturday at around 10:30 a.m EST on Funimation, Hulu and Crunchyroll.
