It's just the second night of "Dancing With The Stars," and a fan favorite will not be able to compete on Monday's show. Maks Chmerkovskiy is said to have been in excruciating pain after suffering a leg injury while rehearsing with his partner Heather Morris on Friday, March 24.
Maks' injury
Maks and Heather were rehearsing for their Jive routine to be performed on the second week's episode when Maks pulled a calf muscle. "Good Morning America" showed a videotape of Maks holding his leg as he limped in pain. The 37-year-old professional dancer will probably be back later during the season after getting the proper medical attention and refraining from dancing for a while.
However, Heather, 31, will have a different partner on "Dancing with the Stars" on March 27.
Last week's score
On the premiere of Season 24, Maks and Heather danced the Viennese Waltz. They received a score of 28 out of 40. That landed them in third place along with two other couples. Even though people were complaining that Heather shouldn't be on the show because of her previous dance experience, Maks said they were having a tough time during their rehearsals in the studio.
Maks' replacement
Maks will be in the ballroom tonight, but he will not dance. He will be there to support his partner. Who will dance with Heather? The name has not been revealed yet. It is hard to speculate who will replace Maks because his injury occurred so early in the season.
Usually, when a replacement is called in, it is a pro who has been eliminated. Since no one has been eliminated yet, a pro who was not connected with this season's show will be the replacement. The possibilities which come to mind include Mark Ballas, Derek Hough, and Tony Dovolani. Anyone of the three would be an excellent choice, if available.
Out of the three, Hough is likely to be the one who will dance the Jive to Little Mix‘s “Grown” with Heather.
Watch "Dancing with the Stars" on Monday, March 27 at 8 p.m. on ABC to find out who will replace Maks as well as to see who will be the first couple eliminated.
