Steve Burton will be seen on the soap opera until early February, and until recently, Dylan's future was not known. It looks like CBS finally made a decision, and it will make the Shylan fans very happy.

Dylan will be recast

Until this week, we had no idea if Dylan would still around in Genoa City after Steve Burton's departure. The media speculated that he could die or ride off with Avery in the sunset.

It looks like none of those sad scenarios will happen because Dylan will stick around, he will just get a new face.

Who will take over the role?

What's next for Sharon and Dylan?

Sharon and Dylan are very sweet together, and he seems to care for her on a very deep level. They have more fans than any other super couple on the show. Their popularity may have surpassed the "Shadam" fanbase.

"The Young and the Restless" fans were upset when they learned that Steve Burton decided not to renew his contract with the CBS soap opera, and worried about what could be next for their alter egos.

Dylan's future on 'Y&R'

Dylan's presence is vital to the soap opera.

He will find himself at odds with both his brother, Nick and step-father, Victor. Without Adam, Dylan provides conflict within the Newman family and keeps the show interesting. When asked about the recast decision, CBS stated they do not comment on actors, recasts, or upcoming storylines.
