Steven Yeun is having a week for the ages. After the star of "The Walking Dead" wed Joana Pak in a beautiful ceremony over the weekend, he found out he and Pak are expecting their first child in 2017, which make Yeun a first-time father.

Family fun

Yeun and Pak were married at the Paramour Estates in Los Angeles on Saturday, December 3. The two are famously discreet about their privates lives, but it's believed the actor and photographer enjoyed a small wedding ceremony in front of family, friends, and other stars of "The Walking Dead." Now, he'll be a father as well as a husband.

Yeun's professional future

Yeun was one of the primary stars on the "The Walking Dead" prior to this year's Season 7 premiere. In that episode, Yeun's character Glenn (as well as Michael Cudlitz's character, Abraham), were brutally killed by Negan, ending Yeun's time on the show. While this was a disappointment for many fans, they'll surely be happy to see him on social media in his new role of husband and father.

Just because Yeun is off "The Walking Dead" doesn't mean he's out of the spotlight in the entertainment industry. He is set to star in the animated crime film "Chew," which also stars Felicia Day and David Tennant. He is also set to star in "Okja," a South Korean-American action-adventure film that counts Tilda Swinton, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Paul Dano among its cast.

"Okja" is set to be released in 2017. Currently, Yeun is voicing a character on the Netflix series "Voltron: Legendary Defender."

While there is a clamor to have the Glenn character return to "The Walking Dead" amid sagging ratings and the potential for another major death in the show on the horizon, it seems unlikely for the star to return due to the brutal way he was killed.

Besides, the show is known to require a major time commitment for the people who work on it, and Yeun would be much better served spending that time with his growing family.

The mid-season finale of "The Walking Dead" airs Sunday night, only on AMC network.
