It's time again for another new episode of the long running Saturday night staple, "Saturday Night Live." This Saturday should be a good one, with two well-known guests taking the stage at 30 Rockefeller Plaza in New York City.

Music by Mendes

Shawn Mendes is scheduled to be the musical guest for this weekends "Saturday Night Live." This is the first time that the 18-year-old Canadian-born musician has appeared on "SNL." Mendes is out and about promoting his new album, "Illuminate," which came out this past September.

"Illuminate" is the singer's second studio album.

There were a few rumors circulating that Mendes would not be singing this Saturday due to illness. Following his doctors orders, the performer had to cancel his set at the iHeart Radio Jingle Ball on December 1. All better now, Mendes is ready for his big SNL appearance.

This spring, Mendes will hit the road to embark on the Illuminate World Tour. The tour kicks off on March 18 in the Philippines. After a few months overseas, the singer will come back to the U.S.

in June for a short break, then get back to touring on July 6 at the Moda Center in Portland. The Illuminate World Tour will take Mendes all over North America until it all concludes on August 23 in Boston at the TD Garden.

Host Emma Stone

The December 3 episode of "Saturday Night Live" will be hosted by actress Emma Stone. This will mark her third time hosting the sketch comedy show. Its been a bit over five years since Stone last hosted, but fans are excited to see her back in the lead.

Stone is starring in the new musical "La La Land" alongside Hollywood hottie Ryan Gosling.

The musical, written and directed by Damien Chazelle, comes out in the U.S. on December 16. The film has already received a lot of praise and is sure to be a huge box office hit this holiday season.

December is full of all new "SNL" episodes. WWE big man John Cena will host the next episode on December 10 with music from Maren Morris. Then actor Casey Affleck will do the hosting duties on December 17 with musical performances by Chance the Rapper.
